Allan Scott Marlborough Black Label Gewürztraminer 2021
Think Ephesus beach, fragrant exotic spices, belly dancers in the warm sun and a cool breeze off the Mediterranean. Combine this with sweet middle eastern delicacies, candied figs and of course a beautiful lightly dusted Turkish Delight.
The nose packs all these things that make Gewürztraminer one of the most opulent of wines, but in an elegant purple-silk type of wrapping.
When the wine hits the palate, these flavours carry on with beautiful rose petals and tickly spice finish the mixes brilliantly with the luscious weight, all without the real over the top soapiness some new world G-whizz can have.
Vintage 2021 / The Real Review – 90 Points
“Delicate, fragrant gewürztraminer with classic rose petal, potpourri and lavender flavours. A hint of sweetness contributes to a soft, ethereal texture. A subtle rather than an in-your-face gewürztraminer.” Bob Campbell
