Description
It wasn’t just a passion for creating great wine that sent the Scott family searching for the perfect vineyard in Central Otago, it was also a longstanding love of the region. Even outside of the winemaking connection, this region has been a base for the Scott family on several fronts for many years.
VITICULTURE
The Central Otago 2024 harvest saw excellent conditions, resulting in high quality grapes throughout the region. Mild conditions through spring and early summer moved to warm dry conditions into Autum and saw optimal fruit development with healthy, disease-free grapes. Flavour development was leisurely, and acid retention was enhanced with a combination of sunny days and cool, clear nights. With years of viticultural expertise within the family to draw on, and perfect conditions, fruit was harvested at peak flavour balance. Overall, 2024 is anticipated to be a very high quality vintage.
VINIFICATION
With a talented and enthusiastic team of international superstars in the winery, this harvest provided an opportunity to showcase the very best flavours of an exceptional vintage.
Hand picked in separate lots over a period of 12 days, different clones and blocks were fermented in small open top fermenters and plunged gently by hand. After pressing the wine rested in French oak barrels for 14 months. After selecting the best barrels the wine was blended and bottled in the Winter of 2025.
